Frances Hoffman, 90 of rural Munich, ND died on Monday, July 24, 2006 at her home.
Funeral Services for Frances will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Salem Mennonite Church, Munich. Rev. Bruce Dick will officiate and burial will be in the South Salem Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake. Visitation on Sunday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Frances will be her grandsons, Randy Unruh, Kerwin Pankratz, Bradley Pankratz, Tim Pankratz, Darol R. Hoffman, Darin Hoffman, Todd Williams, Brett Williams, Greg Williams, Michael Nayes and Jamie Spidahl.
Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Frances’ Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandson.
Frances Dick was born at rural Munich, ND on July 4, 1916, the daughter of Henry C. and Helena (Fast) Dick. She was reared and educated in the Munich area. Frances was united in marriage to Daniel Hoffman on October 6, 1937 at Munich. They established their home on the farm west of Munich. This farm was homesteaded by her father-in-law, Ludwig Hoffman. Frances would live, work and raise her family on this farm for almost 70 years. Daniel died on March 29, 1992. Frances was a life long member of the Salem Mennonite Church.
Frances was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She made 100’s of quilts for family and friends and also took in quilting projects from others. There was always a quilt in the making on the kitchen table. She loved gardening and always had a large garden at the farm. She would can her produce and also always had beautiful flowers and plants. She truly enjoyed her life on the farm, raising chickens and having cats and kittens around the yard as company.

Gail Cruse and her husband, Scott of Devils Lake

One Great Great Grandson
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daniel; son, John Hoffman and brother, Henry F. Dick.
