At a young age he moved with his family to Devils Lake where he was raised and educated and lived his entire life. After his father died at a young age, Jim cared for his mother for several years. For the past 10 years, Jim worked in the Dietary Department of Mercy Hospital. Jim was at one time married to Bonnie Erickson. Jim was always a reliable, trustworthy employee and always enjoyed good times and a good joke with his co-workers. He was kind-hearted and always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He never missed an opportunity to help some of the elderly residents in his apartment building. Jim will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Jim is survived by his son Adam Hager of Devils Lake; daughter Erika Hager of Jamestown, ND; sisters Anne Tuchscherer of Fargo and Caroline “Carol” (Vernon) Gilbert of Devils Lake; brother Adam Hager of California. Many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jacob Hager and sister, Catherine Fleming.
