Frances the oldest of fourteen children of George and Johanna (Bohl) Kuntz was born on August 27, 1934 at Orrin, North Dakota. She attended school in Pierce County and worked as a nanny in the Rugby area before moving to Devils Lake.
Frances was united in marriage to Henry Gordon Moe on June 22, 1957 at St. Joseph Rectory, Devils Lake where they established their home. Frances then dedicated her life to caring for her husband and children and later nurturing her grandchildren as only a grandmother could. She cooked for the Ramsey County Courthouse Café for many years and also worked for a time in Leever’s Bakery. In her retirement years, Frances worked part-time as a substitute cook for the area elementary schools.
Frances was a very active member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, WELCA and the Prisca Circle. She was also very active in the Eagles Auxiliary and was a Past President. Frances enjoyed word-find puzzles and crocheting. But the most important aspect of Frances’ life was her family. Frances made every activity a family affair including lefse making. Every year the whole family would get together before the holidays to make lefse. The past few years, Frances served as the supervisor to make sure everyone was doing things right and the family was looking so forward to the event again this year.
Frances-a gentle soul, a heart of gold, our dear mother and grandmother.
