Palma J. Rosenberg, 102 of Devils Lake formerly of Oberon and Maddock, ND died on Monday, September 13, 2010 at the Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake.
Funeral Services for Palma will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Devils Lake with Rev. Natasha Woitzel-Kolles officiating.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Saturday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Graveside Services for Palma will be held at the Hillside Cemetery, rural Oberon on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Palma will be David Tweten, Donald Buckmier, Curt Thoreson, Ryan Peterson, Dale Muske, Douglas Muske, Daniel Muske, Kyle Dathe, Keith Tweten, Jared Tweten, Duane Tweten and Donald Phillips.
Music will be provided by Dale and Amber Muske, vocalists and Cindy Hegland, pianist.
Palma Josephine, the daughter of Carl and Mathilda (Simonson) Nelson was born in Wells County, North Dakota on September 26, 1907. She attended schools in Maddock and Hamberg and as a young girl worked for several neighbors’ families.
Palma was united in marriage to Raymond Emil Rosenberg on November 12, 1932 in Sheyenne, ND. They lived on a farm south of Oberon and later moved to the Emil Rosenberg farm west of Oberon. They had one daughter, Carol Mae. In 1983 they moved to Maddock. Raymond and Palma spent many winters in the Mesa, Arizona area. Raymond died on February 3, 1991 and Palma moved to Devils Lake that fall. Palma entered the Heartland Care Center in April of 2005.
Palma was a lifelong member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Oberon and enjoyed her time working with and socializing with the Ladies Aid. Palma saw many changes in her life, but some things remained steadfast and that was her faith and her love of family and the happiness and joy each of those things brought to her life.
Palma is survived by her daughter, Carol Tweten of Grand Forks; grandchildren, David (Bonnie) Tweten of Carrington, ND, Susan (Curt) Thoreson of West Fargo, ND, Diane (Dale) Muske of LaMoure, ND, Keith (Nancy) Tweten of Grand Island, Nebraska and Duane Tweten of Rio Rico, Arizona; Eleven Great Grandchildren and Eighteen Great Great Grandchildren.
Palma was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; son-in-law, Allan Tweten; sisters, Iva (Alfred) Sylling and Hennie (Obed) Larson.
