Hilda had twelve brothers and sisters and was the last surviving child. After she completed her education, Hilda moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota and worked as a nurse’s assistant and also worked at an ammunition factory during the war. Hilda moved back to Alsen to care for her mother and on November 14, 1950, Hilda was united in marriage to Lloyd Everett Albrecht. They established their home on the farm near Alsen where they lived, worked and raised their three children. In 2006 they retired and in 2008 Hilda moved to the Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake. Hilda was very active in the Swiss Mennonite Church where as a youngster she sang with her Dad, brothers and sisters and later sang in a quartet and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Hilda loved to cook and bake. Nothing brought her more joy than feeding her family and going on camping trips with her extended family. Hilda was a gardener extraordinaire. She canned and gave away produce to her family, the entire neighborhood and could have fed an army if she needed too. No matter what, Hilda always saved room in the yard and garden for flower beds. Hilda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and had “love names” for each member of the family. The love between Hilda and Lloyd was celebrated at their “Almost 60th Wedding Anniversary” at Heartland Care Center on July 18th, 2010. Hilda passed away peacefully in her sleep and we are thankful for the many years of her earthly life and look to our time together in eternal life. Hilda is survived by her husband, Lloyd of Munich, ND; children Bruce Albrecht of Brooklyn Center, MN, Doreen and her husband Rodney Hoffman also of Munich and Cindy and her husband Darrin McDougall of Blackfoot, Idaho; grandchildren Melissa Hoffman, Devils Lake, Kristeen (Cale) Monson, Hoople, ND, Karleen (Evan) Estenson, Churchs Ferry, ND, Tyler Hoffman, Munich,ND, Logan McDougall, Pocatello, Idaho and Ashley McDougall, Moscow, Idaho; great grandchildren, Dalton Hoffman, Lance Hoffman, Brianna Hoffman, Josephine Estenson, Zachary Estenson and Alexis Monson; sisters-in-law, Ann Roppel and Loretta Roppel of Alsen, Alida Roppel, Langdon, ND, Gladys Reinisch, Minot, ND, Valborg (Kermit) Johnson, Stanley, ND and Marlys (Wendell) Hanson, Ryder, ND and Virginia Toews; many nieces, nephews and their families also survive.
