James Percy Cavanaugh, 60 of Fort Totten, ND died on Monday, June 12, 2006 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Mass of Christian Burial for James will be held on Monday, June 19, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten. Fr. Charles Leute will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Fort Totten.
Visitation for Jim will be held at Seven Dolors Catholic Church on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m.
The procession to Seven Dolors will leave the Walmart Parking Lot on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
Following the Graveside Service everyone is invited to lunch and fellowship at the Fort Totten Recreatoin Center.
Serving as Active Casket Bearers for James will be Ryan Cavanaugh, Reggie Cavanaugh, Robbie T. Cavanaugh, Conrad Cavanaugh, Joseph Cavanaugh, Mark Mindt, Percy “Perry” Cavanaugh, Cornelle Goodthunder and Lydia Cavanaugh.

James Percy Cavanaugh was bron on July 16, 1945 at Fort Totten, ND the son of Percy J. and Elizabeth (Twohearts) Cavanaugh. He was reared and educated in the Fort Totten area attending school at Calvary Square School in Fort Totten and the Little Flower School at St. Michael. His first job as a very young man was with an auctioneer named, Fergie. He was a dedicated, hard working man who also worked at Bragg Transfer and Monteith Meat Packing. In his younger years, he traveled extensively and worked as a ranch hand in several locations including Colorado. At the time of his death, he was employed at Spirit Lake Casino and Resort.
Jim was very gifted in leatherwork art and also incorporated horse hair designs into his work. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends and will be forever loved and forever in our hearts.
