Dennis J. LittleGhost, 44 of St. Michael, ND was called home on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake. A Wake for Dennis will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at St. Michael’s Recreation Center beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. led by Pastor Larry Thiele. The Procession to St. Michael will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday from Wal-Mart. The Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Brian Moen celebrating the Mass, assisted by Deacon Tony McDonald. Music will be provided by Tony and Vina McDonald, Rhythm Riders, Clifford Littlewind and Singers and Michael Tollefson and Singers. Casket Bearers for Dennis will be Rusty “Cogie” Hunt, John Tollefson Jr., Francis “Walls” LittleGhost, Mark LittleGhost Sr., Eugene LittleGhost Sr., Manuel LittleWind Jr., Daniel Rainbow Sr. and David Robertson Honorary Bearers will be Kashton Keja, Jack Radar, Marsha Littlwind, Cindy Thompson, Geno Littleghost, Marlene Johnson, James Yankton Jr., Rena Anderson, Eva LittleGhost, Sally Brown, Flo Harrison, Connie Rainbow, Julius Rainbow, Trevor Cavanaugh, Aaron Cavanaugh, Michael Greywater Jr., Mary Counts, Richard Demarce, Toni Fournier, Marsha White, Melissa Greybear, Bonnie White, Renita “Fefe” Shaw, Bud Shaw and Margaret Eagle. Dennis Jon LittleGhost was born on December 5, 1964 to Eugene H. LittleGhost and Elizabeth A. Waanatan. He attended school in Fort Totten and Little Flower School in St. Michael. He worked for the Spirit Lake Casino, where he met most of his good friends. He also worked for St. Jude’s Home and DTI. (Dakota Tribal Industries). Dennis loved to sew, do crafts and cook. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. He had worked at the Casino until he became ill. Dennis raised three of his nephews as his own sons, Manuel “Cricket” Littlewind, Eugene “Ooge” Sr. and Markie LittleGhost Jr. Dennis is also survived by his loving mother, Elizabeth LittleGhost; Brothers, Mark (Vanessa) LittleGhost Sr. and in the Native Tradition, Dennis took all of his first cousins as brothers, Francis and Richard LittleGhost, David, Jerry, Paul, Kim, Tom and Mark Robertson and Daniel Rainbow; Sisters: Marva (John) Tollefson Sr., Carol (Chris) LittleGhost, Marilyn LittleGhost, Leticia LittleGhost and Dennis also took Roberta, Eva, Bonita and Lisa LittleGhost, Johanna Hunt and Geno LittleGhost as his sisters. His Special Nephews: Curtiss, John Jr., and Mike Tollefson, Russell and Rory LittleGhost, Cody, Coltan, Shaquille, Cardo and Ashton LittleGhost and other nephews, Robert Jr., Alan, Joseph and Michael Little. His Special Nieces: Tiffany, Fallon, Felicia and Desiree LittleGhost, Robin Tikayne, Trinity and Marissa LittleGhost and other nieces, Geneva Bigtrack, Angie Little and Lisa Little. His Special Grandchildren: Madisan Littlewind and Eugene Russell LittleGhost Jr. and other grandchildren, April, Johnson, Felicity, Hailey, John III, Sydney, Shelby, Dante, Tayler, Baby Dacia and Giman Tollefson, Dominic, Danika, Rylie, Rya, Telia and Raylene Littleghost. Aunts: Pauline Greywater, Elaine Robertson, “Walks Far Woman”-Helena Littleghost, Arlean Gomez, Lavern Peltier, Darla Thiele, Lorna WalkingEagle, Pattie Sam, Sheila, Adeline, Joan, June, Julie and Karen Blueshield, Onna Littleghost and Melinda Thompson. Uncles: Leroy LittleGhost, William LittleGhost, Philip Longie Sr., Ambrose “Buddy” Longie, James Thompson Sr., Danny Seaboy, David Seaboy, Alvin Blueshield and Eric Dubois.
