Jayden Tylen Wilkie, 14 of Grand Forks formerly of the St. Michael/Devils Lake, ND area died on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. A Wake and Rosary Service will be held at St. Michael’s Recreation Center, St. Michael, ND on Monday, June 8, 2009 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial for Jayden will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Brian Moen will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. A Procession to St. Michael’s Recreation Center will leave from Wal-Mart on Monday at 4:00 p.m. Serving as Casket Bearers for Jayden will be Dominic “Dom” Devereaux, Ed Wilkie Sr., Ed Wilkie Jr., Patrick Asleson, Christopher Wilkie, Brayzen Wilkie, Tony Cavanaugh, Craig Brown Sr., Craig Brown Jr. and Joe Clauthier. Honorary Bearers will be all of Jayden’s dear family and many friends. Music will be provided by Tony and Vina McDonald and the SunDance Singers. Jayden Tylen, the son of Michael and Genia (Jetty) Wilkie was born on February 7, 1995 at Devils Lake, ND where he lived until age 3 when he moved with his family to Grand Forks. He attended Lake Agassiz Elementary School and had just graduated from the 8th Grade at Valley Middle School where he was a Valley Royal football player. When Jayden wasn’t in school he loved the outdoors and playing catch and football with his brother and sister and friends. When indoors, Jayden loved to listen to music and play Xbox 360 and other computer games with his friends. Jayden’s favorite foods were best described as “junk food and Pepsi.” Jayden’s smile and talkative nature made him a friend to everyone he met. But Jayden’s top priority was his family. He loved being with them, having fun with them and celebrating special times together. Those bright eyes and smiling face captured the hearts of all who knew and loved him and he will be greatly missed. Jayden is survived by his parents, Michael and Genia of Grand Forks, ND; sister, Nevada Wilkie and brother, Koldyn Wilkie; paternal grandparents, Kris Ann and Terry Baker, Belcourt, ND and great grandmother, Margaret “Peggy” Wilkie of Bismarck; Many aunts, uncles, great aunts and great uncles and cousins also survive. Jayden was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sylvester and Evalina Jetty; great grandparents, Frank and Algenia Jetty, Lawrence and Elizabeth Redday; Albert “Joe Boy” Wilkie and David and Philamine Jollie; uncles, Elmer Jetty and Tracy Eagleman.
