Frances Elaine Burt

Frances E. Burt, 66 a life long resident of Devils Lake, ND died on July 6, 2009 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Mass of Christian Burial for Frances will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Dale Kinzler will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Friday from 3:00 pm. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Saturday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Reading the Sacred Scriptures will be David Burt and Dana Burt Gift Bearers will be Rhonda and Zachary Skudall Music will be provided by Patty Cote Frances Elaine, daughter of Frank and Anne (Gefroh) Schepp was born on November 19, 1942 in Devils Lake, ND where she would live and work her entire life. Frances graduated from St. Mary’s High School with the class of 1961. Frances married Barry Burt on October 7, 1961. They established their home in Devils Lake. Frances worked for a time at A&W and then devoted the rest of her life to raising her family. Frances was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a former member of the Elks Lodge and Devils Lake KC’s. Frances was a gardener extraordinaire, even enrolling in classes on horticulture. She was an avid reader and excellent cook and baker. It brought her much joy to share the goodies she had prepared with her family and friends. She will be missed but her memory will always be close to the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Frances is survived by her children: Rosemary Salisbury and her husband, Mark of Chelmsford, MA; David Burt, Charlottesville, VA; Dana Burt, Grand Forks, ND; Rhonda Skurdall and her husband, Paul of Devils Lake; Rachel Hach and her husband, Rob also of Devils Lake; Grandchildren: Shawn (Jill) Johnson, Megan Salisbury, Cimie Burt, Zachary Skurdall, Logan Skurdall and Parker Hach; Great Grandsons, Seth and Jacob Johnson; She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anne Schepp; husband, Barry on September 2, 2007; daughter, Rebecca Burt and brother, Ted Schepp.
