Lela L. Nesseth, 78, of Devils Lake, formerly of Crary, N.D., passed away July 9, 2009 at Parkview Health Center at Aneta, N.D., where she was a resident since January 10, 2008.
Funeral Services for Lela will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake with Rev. Jamie Desai officiating. Graveside Services for Lela will be held on Monday, July 13, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Crary Cemetery, Crary, North Dakota.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Lela will be Leon Gilbraith, Richard Halldorson, Gary Ertmann, Richard Mahoney, Steve Halldorson and Bob Christie.
Music will be provided by Patty Cote.
Lela was born April 27, 1931, at Bottineau, N.D. to Anton and Sarah (Johnson) Hagen and lived there until she was 12 years old. The family then relocated to Crary, N.D. where she received her elementary and high school education at Crary Public School
Lela moved to Devils Lake after graduating from high school and was employed at medical and legal offices before starting a long career at the Woolworth store until it closed. She then continued working for several years at the Arcade News Store until her retirement.
She was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church in Crary, where she was a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir for many years. After the closing of the church in Crary, she became a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Devils Lake.
Lela is survived by her brothers, Lester (Andreana) Hagen of Coeur D’Alene, ID., and Clayton Hagen of Plymouth, Minn.: Several nieces and nephews, plus her beloved cousins, Dolores Stenseth, Arlowene Halldorson, and Richard and Mary Halldorson.
Lela was preceded in death by her parents and two infant sisters.
