Harry A. Kosieracki, 90 of Cape Coral, Florida and formerly of Webster, ND died on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida. Mass of Christian Burial for Harry will be on Tuesday, May 13th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Dale Kinzler will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in the Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Tuesday will be at the church in the Mother Theresa Hall one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Serving as Casket Bearers for Harry will be his grandsons, Josh Lindenberg, Kyle Kosieracki, Chad Kosieracki, Cal Kosieracki, son-in-law, Wayne Lindenberg and friends, Allan Thompson and Rodger Haugen. Honorary Bearers will be I.F. LaFleur, Balzer Kurtz and Paul Lange. Harry was born on December 1, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Cyprian and Anna (Hoffman) Kosieracki. He grew up and was educated in the Chicago area. In 1938 he went to work for Lockheed Air Craft in Burbank, California. He continued to work for Lockheed until 1945 and received several certificates of merit from Lockheed for work well done. Harry was united in marriage to Sherlea Sorensen on June 23, 1945 in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1946, they moved to North Dakota to the Sorensen farm where they farmed until 1957. They owned and operated the Truck Harbor Restaurant and Service Station until 1959 when it burned to the ground. Harry started employment at KDLR as an advertising salesman. For Harry, that meant he would work as a DJ from 6 am until 9 am, then when the businesses opened he would sell advertising, come back to the station and write copy for the ads and then go back on as announcer and DJ at 6 p.m. Harry served as general manager of KDLR for many years. . Harry made the Devils Lake area his home until his death, spending the winter months in Florida. Harry was united in marriage to Mary Burke-Lydon on August 12, 1994 at the Webster Presbyterian Church and later renewed their vows at Assumption of Mary Catholic Church in Starkweather. Harry was a member and ruling elder of the Webster Presbyterian Chapel for many years. He was also very active in many community activities and organizations. He was very instrumental in the founding of the Devils Lake Eagles Aerie and was a life long member of the Elks Lodge. He was a member of Rotary and served as President for several years. In 1963 he founded the Lake Region Flying Club and in 1973 the Devils Lake Yacht Club, serving as Commodore for 10 years. He was also a Captain on the Civil Air Patrol. Harry was a master at sailing and for many years, sold McGregor-Hunter sailboats as a second career; selling a sailboat in Florida only 4 months ago. While living in Florida, Harry was a member of St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church and the Platinum Point Yacht Club. Harry was an entrepreneur with an adventurous spirit and always very civic minded. He was a friend to anyone he met and will be greatly missed. Harry is survived by his loving wife, Mary of Cape Coral, Florida His daughter, Karen Lindenberg and her husband, Wayne of Webster, ND and his son, Chris Kosieracki of Lake Waconia, Minnesota Grandchildren: Brooke and Josh Lindenberg and Kyle (Kristin), Chad and Cal Kosieracki Step Children: Patrick (Karen) Lydon Mary Grace (Geoff) Lorah Helen (Sam) Fox Cecelia (Chris) Tyesky Joseph (Andrea) Lydon Anne (Bruno) Sandoval John (fiancée, Judy Boehmer) Lydon Rita (Paul) Cenni Gregory (Stacey) Lydon twins, Elizabeth Clerou and Burke (Kate) Lydon. Twelve Step Grandchildren Brother: Fred Kosieracki and his wife, Jean of Park Ridge, Illinois Many nieces, nephews and their families also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sherlea on August 20, 1989; daughter-in-law, Colleen in September of 2006 and brother, Walter Kosieracki.
