Frances E. Welch, 70 of Devils Lake, ND died on Friday, June 19, 2009 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake.
Funeral Services for Frances will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake. Fr. Charles Leute, O.P. Pastor, Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Frances will be David Welch, Dallas Welch Sr., Donny Welch, Caleb Welch, Dallas Welch Jr. and Doug Asleson.
Frances Elaine was born on February 27, 1939 in Devils Lake, ND, the daughter of John and Victoria (Rondeau) Munson. She was reared in the Devils Lake area and was educated at St. Michael’s Mission School, St. Michael, ND.
Frances was united in marriage to Henry “Nick” Welch in 1955. They made their home in a variety of places, including Poplar, Kalispell and Wolf Point, Montana, Colorado and Oregon. Frances eventually returned to North Dakota and Devils Lake to be closer to her family. Frances spent most of her life as the owner and operator of a house cleaning service.
Frances was devoted to her family and worked hard to provide for them. She loved spending time with her family, her sisters and her friends.
Frances is survived by her sons: David Welch, Donny (Florence) Welch and Dallas (Terri) Welch all of Devils Lake and Michael (Donna) Welch of Oregon; daughter, Denise Welch-Buckles of Montana;
Thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren;
Sisters: Victoria Miller of Washington, Olive (Doug) Asleson, Marcia “Bitty” Lingquist, Marlene Hanson and Vicky (Tom) Jones all of Devils Lake;
Brother: Arnold Anderson Jr. of Oregon;
Frances was preceded in death by her mother, Victoria; stepfather, Arnold Anderson; father, John Munson; son, Dennis Welch; brothers, Bruce Anderson, Kenneth Munson, James Anderson, John D. Munson; sister, Joan Anderson Stahl and special friend, Roger Nordrum.
