Alicia M. (Burdick) Uriell, 25 of Devils Lake, ND died Friday, June 12, 2009 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake. Visitation for Alicia will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Wednesday, June 17th from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Visitation on Wednesday evening beginning at 5:00 p.m. will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 6:00 p.m. Visitation on Thursday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Mass of Christian Burial for Alicia will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, June 18th at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Dale Kinzler will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Serving as Casket Bearers will be Jason Burdick, Jacob Burdick, Zachary Burdick, Jason Uriell, Cory Unruh and Joel Horn. Music will be provided by Patty Cote Gift Bearers will be Fieldings and Tara Olson. Alicia Marie was born on June 30, 1983 in Minot, ND, the daughter of William and Bonita (Schneider) Burdick. She was educated in Burlington, Fargo, and Horace, ND and in 1995 moved with the family to Devils Lake and graduated from Devils Lake High School with the class of 2001. She attended Lake Region State College and graduated with an Associates Degree. While in high school, Alicia participated in many activities including volleyball and track. For the past several years, Alicia played on the Liquor Locker Softball Team. Since she was a sophomore in high school, Alicia has worked at the Heartland Child Care Center and has served as supervisor these past years. Alicia was also employed at Early Head Start as a Teacher’s Assistant during the school year. Alicia was united in marriage to James P. Uriell, the love of her life, on June 6, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Alicia’s enthusiasm, her radiance and her laugh brightened the lives of all who knew her and loved her. She loved life, her family, the many children in her care and especially her husband James. Her love will be with us forever. Alicia is survived by her husband, James of Devils Lake Parents: Bill and Bonita Burdick, Devils Lake; Sister: Stephanie Burdick also of Devils Lake; Brothers: Zachary Burdick and his wife, Lindsey of Minot, ND; Jacob Burdick and Jason Burdick both of Devils Lake; Niece: Addison Miller, Devils Lake; Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law: Jim and Charlette Uriell of Lakota, ND; Grandparents: Gordon Burdick, Anthony and Irene Schneider all of Devils Lake; James’ grandmother, Dolores Uriell of Lakota; Brother-In-Law: Jason Uriell and his wife Heather of Shakopee, MN; Sisters-In-Law: Ellen and her husband Joel Horn of Wahpeton, ND; DeeAnn and her husband, Luke Mauch of Barney, ND; Carrie and her husband, Cory Unruh also of Wahpeton and Tiffany Uriell of Lakota and many nieces and nephews. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and their families also survive. Alicia was preceded in death by her grandmother, Jeannette Burdick and James’ grandparents, Lloyd Uriell and John and Hannah Vasicek.
