Vonda C. Amundrud, 62 of Devils Lake formerly of Portland, Oregon and Edinburg, ND died on Saturday, June 09, 2007 at the home of her loving sister, Karen.
Funeral Services for Vonda will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Devils Lake with Rev. Jamie Desai officiating.
Graveside Services for Vonda will be held at the Zion Cemetery, Union, ND on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 1:00 p.m.
Visitation will be held at Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Tuesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Serving as Casket Bearers will be Kevin Zinke, Mark Zinke, Daryn Zinke, Travis Beck, Dawn Beardemphl and Carol Szaloy.
Music will be provided by Lane Azure, Amy Azure, Beth Olson and Sue Schwab and Gloria Lysne, organist
Vonda Clair was born at Grafton, ND on June 30, 1944, the daughter of Emil and Nora (Olson) Amundrud. She was reared and educated in Union, ND, receiving her elementary education in a country school in the Union area. She graduated from Edinburg High School in 1962. She then attended Lake Region Junior College and received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1965. She worked for 3 years at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fargo, ND then moved to Portland, Oregon. She would make this her home through the years, working at Providence Hospital in Portland for 37 years, retiring due to health problems. Vonda recently returned to North Dakota to be closer to family.

Sister-In-Law: Karey Amundrud of Park River, ND
Nieces and Nephews: Kimberly (Travis) Beck; Larry Amundrud and Linda Amundrud; Dawn Beardemphl, Robin Smith and Lila Hilkemier; Kevin (Shelly) Zinke, Mark Zinke, Daryn (Kim) Zinke and Shannon (Lane) Azure.
Several Grand Nieces and Grand Nephews, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins also survive

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Merlin Amundrud, sister, Marlys Hilkemier; sister-in-law, Dinah Amundrud and nephew, Leslie Amundrud.
