Lorrayne attended the Banner grade school in Weaver, Alsen High School and the Lutheran Deaconess School of Nursing in Minneapolis, receiving her R.N. degree. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Lorrayne was a witness of her belief in our Savior her whole life. We can feel comfort that she is with the Lord. Lorrayne was united in marriage to Robert Harder of Munich on September 11, 1949. They then lived on the farm Lorrayne grew up on. The summer of 1958 they purchased a farm west of Hampden and farmed there until 1990 when they retired and moved to Devils Lake. In the 1960’s, with the demand for nurses, Lorrayne worked as an R.N. at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake for about 5 years. Lorrayne was a hard worker and a very generous and loving person. She very much enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lorrayne enjoyed the farm life, being outdoors, planting flowers and gardening. Her favorite season was fall. She enjoyed being a part of the farm harvest, being the truck driver during combining. Her many other activities she enjoyed include quilting, crocheting, reading and embroidery. Lorrayne and Robert enjoyed many winters in AZ, they traveled to the east and west coast, Branson, Alaska and in 2000, took a trip to Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Germany. Lorrayne is a member of Zoar Lutheran Church in Hampden and the Lutheran Ladies Aide. Lorrayne and Robert, her husband of 57 years have four children.
