Dorothy Locker, 84 of Devils Lake formerly of Drake, ND died on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake. Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy will be held on Monday, December 18, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake with Fr. C.F. Wilhelm celebrating the Mass. Graveside Services will be held at the Drake Cemetery on Monday, December 18, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Monday will be one hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church. Reading the Scriptures will be Brenda Duchscherer Gift Bearers will be Dorothy’s Grandchildren Dorothy Locker was born on February 25, 1922, to Frank and Katherine (Kreitel) Tuchscherer at their home in Blumenfeld, ND. Dorothy was raised and went to country school there. She worked away from home after completing 8th grade. She married John Locker on July 6, 1942 at St. John’s Catholic Church at Blumenfeld. They farmed near Balfour for 37 years. They retired and moved to Drake, ND, in 1979. John passed away on February 20, 1996. At Balfour, she belonged to the Christian Mothers of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. At Drake she was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and St. Margaret Mary Guild until she moved to Devils Lake, to be close to some of her children, after her husband died. In Devils Lake she was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was a promoter of the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal for over 50 years. She loved to crochet, embroider and paint. She moved to Heartland Care Center in March, 2005. Dorothy is survived by her children, Leo (Sue) Locker, Devils Lake, ND, Sharon (Fred) Wilson, Stafford, VA, Connie (Richard) Jorgenson, Devils Lake, ND, Ryan (Maria) Locker, Casper, WY, Howard (Marka) Locker, Manassas, VA and Brenda (Harry) Duchscherer, Grand Forks, ND. Grandchildren: Leah (Mike) Munnis, Jon (Gabriela) Wilson, Kim (Jerome) Helten, Debra (Richard) Spencer, Michal (Chad) Schmidt, Jessica Jorgenson, Kristen (William) Perreault, Travis (Bobbie) Jorgenson, Adam and Aaron Locker, Chelsea Locker, Katie, Steven and Sarah Duchscherer, 12 great grandchildren and one brother, Joe. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents and 9 sisters. Casket Bearers will be Richard Jorgenson, Travis Jorgenson, Fred Wilson, Harry Duchscherer, Steven Duchscherer and Jerome Helten. Pallbearers will be all of Dorothy’s grandchildren and their spouses and great grandchildren. Dorothy’s family wishes that memorials be sent to Heartland Care Center or Mercy Hospice.
