Constance A. “Connie” Haugen, 63 of Devils Lake, ND died on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 in Ixtapa, Mexico.
Funeral Services for Connie will be held on Monday, January 29, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake. Rev. Harold Ovre will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake and from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.
Visitation on Monday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Connie will be her grandchildren and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Connie’s dear friends.
Constance A. Berg was born on August 28, 1943 in Rolette, ND. The daughter of Arthur and Thora (Solberg) Berg, she was reared on a farm in rural Bisbee, ND. Graduating from Bisbee High School in 1961, she received her teaching certificate from Minot State College. She taught grade school in Harvey, ND.
Connie was united in marriage to Rodger E. Haugen on December 19, 1964 in Bisbee. They established their home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and later moved to Williston, ND in 1966. In 1971 they moved to Minot. Rodger and Connie purchased the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Devils Lake in 1984 and owned and operated the funeral home until their retirement in 2004.
Connie was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, WELCA, Altar Guild, St. Olaf Quilters and numerous civic organizations. She loved to sew and shared her talents through “Brim of Hope”, sewing turbans for cancer patients. She along with her sisters and extended family, formed the Berg Family Quilters which contributed numerous quilts to various charities.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Berg and mother-in-law, Frances Haugen.
