Levi Joseph Eagleman, 58 of Wisconsin Rapids,Wisconsin formerly of the Spirit Lake Nation, died on Sunday, September 23, 2007 at St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Mass of Christian Burial for Levi will be held on Friday, September 28, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michael, ND. Fr. Paul Ruge will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Serving as Casket Bearers for Levi will be Myron Redday, Andrew Walker, Lawrence Gilbert Eagleman Jr., Farron BlueShield, Roland Johnson, Dallas Delorme, Anthony Mata and Dezon Montreal. Honorary Bearers will be Duane Big Bear, Stanley Cavanaugh, George Cavanaugh, Virgil Feather, Roger Feather, Richard L. Walker, Chuck Redday, Eunice Deane, Demus McDonald, Oliver Gourd Sr., Elmer Brown and Kenny Dunn. Levi Joseph was born on March 14, 1949 at Fort Totten, ND the son of Lawrence and Elizabeth Mary (Redday) Eagleman. He attended elementary school at the Wahpeton Boarding School and high school in Flandreau, South Dakota. Levi enlisted in the United States Navy on April 29, 1969 and served his country during the Vietnam War. After his discharge he lived most of his life in Minnesota where he worked as a security guard for the Little Earth Residential Housing Project. For the past 4 years, Levi has made his home in Wisconsin. Levi enjoyed traveling throughout the country and sharing the adventures of his many trips and his Navy days are part of what made Levi the “great story teller” that he was. In his younger years he enjoyed playing guitar and singing with his friends and family. The twinkling in his eyes and smile on his face with every story he shared will always be remembered in our memory and forever in our hearts. Levi is survived by his Sons: Winter Hawk Old Rock of Redwood Falls, Minnesota Levi Eagleman Jr. of Grand Forks, ND Daughters: Rani Old Rock Memorie Old Rock both of St. Michael Pretty Deer Old Rock of Fargo Reggina Eagleman Brenda Leah Eagleman Roberta Eagleman all of Minneapolis, MN Many Grandchildren Brother: Lawrence Gilbert (Lisa) Eagleman Sr. of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin Great Aunt: Christine Cavanaugh Many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Crystal Starr Fire Martin; brothers, Joseph Cominghay and Oliver Eagleman; sister, Evalina Jetty.
