Milton J. Zahradka, 84 of Devils Lake, ND formerly of rural Lawton, ND died on Tuesday morning, December 5, 2006 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Mass of Christian Burial for Milton will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Robert Pecotte will celebrate the Mass. Graveside Services for Milton will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Bechyne Catholic Cemetery, rural Lankin on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 2:00 p.m.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Friday, December 8, 2006 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 5:30 p.m. Visitation on Saturday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Milton will be his grandsons, Michael Zahradka, Lawrence Zahradka and Casey Miller and nephews, Shane Shereck, Douglas Shereck and Jeff Moen.
Music will be provided by Patty Cote

Milton Joseph Zahradka was born on August 13, 1922 in Shepherd Township, Walsh County, rural Lawton, ND, the son of Valerian and Rose (Kubat) Zahradka. He was raised and educated in Shepherd Township attending country school. On October 7, 1946 Milton was united in marriage to Delores Shereck at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. They established their home in Shepherd Township where they lived, worked and raised their family through the years. Milton farmed and ranched for over 60 years and in 1999, retired and moved to Devils Lake. Along with his farming, Milton was an insurance agent for Dundee Mutual Insurance of Park River for many years. He served on the Board of Directors for the Lawton Farmers Union for over 25 years and was the assessor for Shepherd Township for many years. He was a former member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and now a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Milton dedicated his life to caring for his family and the land he loved. He loved visiting and spending time with his family, friends and neighbors and never passed up a chance for a little card playing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Mildred Zahradka and sisters, Alice Cesik and Blanche Bata.
