Richard J. Feather, AKA “Tah-Doh” Wambdi Wakan Hoksina (Sacred Eagle Boy) 30 of Fort Totten, ND died on Friday, May 8, 2009 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake.
A Wake and Prayer Service for Richard will be held at the Fort Totten Recreation Center on Friday, May 15, 2009 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 8:00 p.m. The procession to Fort Totten will leave the Wal-Mart Parking Lot at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
Mass of Christian Burial for Richard will be held at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Charles Leute O.P. will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Fort Totten.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Richard will be Dustin Dunn, Edward LaVallie, Elton TwoHearts, Bernard TwoHearts, Jeff Azure, Michael Buckles, Waylon Red Tomahawk, Robert “Robbie” Cavanaugh.

Richard James was 30 years old and was born at Mercy Hospital on January 18, 1979. He is the son of the late Stacy Feather Sr. and Catherine TwoHearts. Richard attended school at Headstart, Four Winds and Warwick schools. Richard recently started working toward his GED at the Adult Learning Center at CCCC in Fort Totten.
On November 7, 2008, Richard married the love of his life, Ashley Ross, whom he lived with for several years. Richard was currently employed with Target Roofing. He was a very driven and dedicated worker, always working hard to get the job done. He also worked for numerous construction companies in the Bismarck/Mandan areas. (Expressway Personnal-Cardinal Roofing). At one time he also worked for the Spirit Lake Casino, Sioux Manufacturing Company, Marion Pipeline Company and worked on roads as a certified flagger.
Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his wife, Ashley and daughter Rachel. He liked playing cards (whist), throwing horseshoe, darts, pool, basketball, sitting around listening to country and pow-wow music with his brothers. He also enjoyed visiting with his Elder relatives, always wanting to hear stories about his family roots. Richard was always there to lend a helping hand, he always had a joke to put a smile on your face. He mother and siblings were very special to Richard. Richard will be deeply missed and loved by all whose lives he touched.
