Anneliese Remer, 86 of Lawton, ND was carried to heaven in Jesus’ arms on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at CHI, St. Alexius, Devils Lake Hospital. Funeral Services for Anneliese will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Devils Lake with Reverend Daniel Voth officiating. Anneliese will be laid to rest in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Visitation on Monday, September 4, 2017 will be at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Anneliese, the daughter of Gustav and Maria (Plienes) Weber was born on April 3, 1931 at Goch, West Germany where she was raised and educated. Anneliese was united in marriage to Heinrich “Henry” Remer on November 15, 1957 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Devils Lake. Anneliese and Henry would live, farm side by side and raise their family through the years on the farm at Lawton. They shared over 57 years of love and marriage until Henry passed away on April 26, 2015. Anneliese continued to live on the farm in Lawton. She was an avid gardener who was involved in the planting, tending and processing the produce to share with family and friends. She loved to cook and bake her family’s favorite dishes. Anneliese is survived by her daughter Elsa Remer and her husband Arden Freitag of Bismarck, ND and son Fritz Remer of Lawton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Henry and brother Kurt Weber.
