Ardith would like to let you know her work here was completed February 11, 2018. She received a call and caught her train to glory. She was embraced by her heavenly father, loving family and friends upon her arrival at her eternal destination.
Ardith Dae Cox was born in St. Paul, MN, on November 5, 1927 to Arthur Jennings and Mary Day Cox. She graduated from Minot High and then received her secretarial degree from a business college. This is where she learned the skill of shorthand and LOVED using it to disguise her children's Christmas lists.
While attending youth group at Grace Baptist Church in Minot, Ardith met a handsome blue-eyed man named Roy Walter. When he was stationed overseas during WWII they exchanged love letters, then were married on June 22, 1946, after his discharge from the Army.
Ardith followed her military husband around the US to various Army bases: Fort Lewis, WA, Fort Riley, KS, back to Minot, and completing their tour at Camp Grafton in Devils Lake in 1965.
Roy and Ardith were blessed with five "perfect" children: Candy, Sandy, Paul, Terri, and Heidi. In addition to raising their five children, Ardith taught Sunday School and CEF Good News Clubs, as well as working in grade schools through RSVP. She held leadership positions in the Gideon's Auxiliary, Christian Women's Club, AWANA and MOPS.
Roy and Ardith enjoyed 58 happy years together, until his death in 2004. As usual, Roy has been waiting the past 14 years to hold his Blondie's hand again!
Ardith is survived by her children: Candy Solseth, Sandy Beighley (Mark), Heidi Hanson (Ryan) and son-in-law Perry Berg, grandchildren Shane Swenson (Mindy), Bob Mikkelson (Adele), Carlie Raven, Erik Berg (Lindsay), Brianne Berg, Macy Raven, and Parker and Gabby Hanson, great-grandchildren Joshua Swenson-Frenzel (Josh), Landyn, Avery, and Rylan Swenson, Paige and Shay Mikkelson, Willow Raven, her beloved sister Donna Sink (FL), sister-in-law Beulah Besemann, brother-in-law Ken Smith as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, son Paul (Waltzie), daughter Terri, Terri's two infant sons, siblings Shirley Smith and Arthur Cox, sons-in-law Jim Swenson, Greg Solseth, Rick Mikkelson, and Ron Thomas and several in-laws and nephews.
