Beatrice (Buckmier) Hahn passed into her eternal life on January 9, 2024 at Valley Senior Living at the age of 90. She was born on August 25th,1933 in rural Benson County, ND to Sebastian and Regina (Hoffart) Buckmier. She was the eldest of six children. Bea attended country schools in the Minnewaukan and Brinsmade areas and then later graduated high school in Minnewaukan.
Bea married Stanley Hahn on October 6, 1951. Together they had four children, the eldest, Loretta, passed away in January of 1963 due to health complications she acquired as an infant. They farmed for many years in the Minnewaukan area.
Bea moved to Grand Forks in 1980 and worked as a waitress, bar maid and a certified nursing assistant but she was the proudest of her long-standing 25 year career at Target. She started off working in the back storerooms but later moved to the food court where she made some lifelong connections with costumers and staff. She received employee of the month in 2009.
When she finally retired in 2010 at the age of 77, she would stay busy with her special friend Odin, who passed in January of 2019. They loved to travel and visit local restaurants and casinos.
Bea will always be remembered by her hard work ethic, loving personality and her delicious meals/baked goods. Her children and grandchildren were her most prized possessions in life and she spent any bit of time with them that she could. Bea loved good food, a hot slot machine, a cold beer and laughing with family and friends, and dancing. She has most certainly left her legacy on this earth and will be so dearly missed.
Bea is survived by her three sons, Duane (JoAnn) Hahn of Devils Lake, Mike (Cheryl) Hahn of Grand Forks, and Ronnie (Louise) Hahn of Grand Forks. Grandchildren Jeremy(Tammy) Beck of Devils Lake, Branden Hahn of Bismarck, Jordan Hahn of Devils Lake, Christopher (Sarah) Larson, Austin TX, Pam (John) Martin, Jennifer (David) Watne of Grand Forks, Jared (Amber)Hahn of Baudette, MN, Chelsea (Tyler) Crockett of Minot, Andrea Hahn of Grand Forks, Corbyn (Bryan) Bjerk of East Grand Forks, MN; sister Shirley Mager, Cloverdale, IN as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
