Brian W. Langton

Brian W. Langton, 65 of Southam ND passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at CHI, St. Alexius Health, Devils Lake Hospital.

Funeral Services for Brian will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake with Reverend JoHanna Bucholz, Pastor Our Savior’s Lutheran Church officiating.  Burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery at 1:15 p.m.

Brian Wade Langton, son of Leo and Nelda (Severtson) Langton was born on August 15, 1955 at Devils Lake ND.  He grew up on the family farm in the Southam/Crary area.  He graduated from Crary High School with the class of 1973.  He continued his education at the Wahpeton State School of Science. 

 Brian then worked various jobs in West Fargo and out on the West coast in Seattle, Washington.  In the early eighties he returned home and worked on the farm and again at Langton Enterprises in the parts Department.  Brian lived on the family farm where he would farm the land until his death. 

Brian was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to music and was really open to many different styles of music.  He also was an accomplished competitive Chess player.  Brian loved to play pinochle and always had a jigsaw puzzle in the works.

Brian faithfully reported the rain and snowfall in the area to NOAA for many years.

Brian was a precious and loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, dear friend and good neighbor.

Brian is survived by his mother Nelda, Devils Lake; brothers Steven (Sally) Langton, Palmdale CA, Scott (Dessarae) Langton, Crary ND, Merle Langton, Devils Lake; sister Stacy (Tom) Saurey, Denver CO; many nieces, nephews and several aunts and uncles. 

He was preceded in death by his father Leo, brother Trent Langton and a brother in infancy and sister Lanelle Cummings. 

Urn Bearers will be his siblings Steven, Scott, Merle and Stacy; music will be provided by his aunts Sonja Meissner and Dorine Severtson and Dennis Aardahl.  There will also be a special tribute by Dorine.
