Carol L. Lommen

Carol Lommen, 83 of rural Devils Lake passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022. 

Graveside Service for Carol will be on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Devils Lake Cemetery. 

Carol Louise, daughter of Adam and Ottilia (Baumgartner) LIpp was born on May 6, 1939 in Linton ND. At a young age moved with family to Devils Lake. She attended St. Mary’s Academy and graduated from the Academy with the class of 1957. She continued her education at Lake Region Junior College.

Carol married Dennis Lommen on September 3, 1960 and they established their home in rural Devils Lake. They lived, worked, and shared over 55 years of love, laughter, and memories made until Dennis died on April 15, 2016..

From 1958 to 1970, Carol was employed with the Ramsey County Register of Deeds Office. 

Carol loved the outdoors, enjoyed feeding the deer, and helped Dennis to keep a well-manicured lawn. She felt blessed to have her sister, brother-in-law and nephews taking care for her, especially after Dennis died.

Carol’s loving family include her sister Elaine and husband David Hagel, Devils Lake ND; sisters-in-law O’Della Hamre, Devils Lake and Burnette Lindseth, Grand Forks, ND; many nieces and nephews including Darin Hamre and Bradley Lommen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dennis, sister Nyla Renee, and in-laws Anton and Anna Lommen.

Services will be held in 2023.

Carol is in the care of the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake
