Carol Diane RedDay-Littlewind, of Fort Totten ND passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at her home surrounded by a loving family. She was 70 years old.
There will be a Wake for Carol on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the Dakota Baptist Church, Fort Totten beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Serv ice at 7:00 p.m. The procession to Fort Totten will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday from City Plaza, Devils Lake.
Funeral Services for Carol will be on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. also at the Dakota Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Young officiating. The burial will be at a later date.
Carol Diane, foster daughter of James and Kay Hetler, daughter of Ione RedDay was born on December 19, 1954, in North Dakota. She grew up on the Spirit Lake Nation and attended Maddock Public School.
Carol married Dallas “Husky” Littlewind in 1975. They lived in several places including California and Florida. They started their family with the birth of Dawn. They moved to California and Delin was born. After moving to Florida, they completed their family with the birth of Natasha.
Carol eventually moved to Pinedale, Wyoming and she worked a variety of jobs to support her treasured family. She lived, worked, and made a loving home for her family in Pinedale through the years. In 1994 she moved to the Spirit Lake Nation, Fort Totten and called it home until her passing.
Carol had many talents. She enjoyed beading, sewing, gardening, and was an impressive gamer. She was never afraid to try anything and competed in arm wrestling matches and log chopping events while living in Wyoming. Camping was a favorite family event wherever they lived.
Carol’s children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was their strongest supporter, their biggest fan, and always a part of their lives and present at all their special events in life. Carol was also “Mom” and “Grandma” to many others as she shared her love and kindness for them.
Carol is survived by her daughters Dawn Marie Littlewind and Natasha Lynn Littlewind; grandchildren Kylie Diane Fassett, Cody Ray Fassett, Perry Fassett Jr.: Dantae Jerome Whitetail: KiJuan John Snell, Kashton Kane Snell, Ruby Rose Snell and Johnathan Eugene Good Soldier; great grandchildren Ellyanna Fox, Xander Fassett, Daniel Fassett, Raven Fassett, Zayd Fassett, Zamorah Fassett, Coleson Eagle Shield and Jaliyah Azure; brother Damian Hetler; special godsons Richard Feather, Leland Azure, Dennis Davis, and Luke Quick; special nieces Shontal Lajeunesse and Holly Hill; special friends Don Sainsbury, Elaine Guy, Lisa Burdick, Bonita Morin, Oralia Diaz, her birthday twin Deborah Herald; many precious nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was reunited with her parents James and Kay and Ione, son Delin John Littlewind on November 16, 2001, brothers Brad Hetler, Bryan Hetler, and Eugene RedDay, sister Mary Ellen RedDay YellowBird, many dear grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Casket Bearers will be Cody Fassett, PJ Fassett, KiJuan Snell, Kashton Snell, Johnny Good Soldier, Richard Feather and Leland Azure.
