Charlene Ann Thomas "Waokiya Win"yan" (Helpful Woman) began her journey to the Spirit Lake world on Thursday, November 18, 2019 at her home at Fort Totten surrounded by her loving family and in the care of Hospice.

The Wake for Charlene will be held at the Crow Hill Wellness Center on Friday, November 29, 2019 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.  The procession to Crow Hill will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Friday from the City Plaza, Devils Lake.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten with Father Charles Leute OP celebrating the Mass.  Military Honors will be accorded by the Spirit Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6547.  Charlene will be laid to rest in St. Jerome's Cemetery, rural Fort Totten at a later date.
