Christopher Albin Nelson, 39 of Devils Lake ND was born to Carrie St. Pierre on July 26, 1985, in Devils Lake. He began his journey to the Spirit World on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Chris went to school at Four Winds in Fort Totten, ND. Chris had the honor of going to California and meeting Dr. Patch Adams. Chris continued his education in Laramie, Wyoming, going to WyoTech where he graduated and accumulated several certificates.

Chris was employed at the Spirit Lake Casino and Resort in the Maintenance Department which he enjoyed. He also worked at Family Dollar in Devils Lake. His current job was at the Fireside Inn in Devils Lake, doing landscaping, framing, and restoration.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping, working on cars, drawing, and beading. Chris was a jack of all trades. He loved jamming to his music. His favorite thing in the world was just being with his family! Chris had a very kind soul; he had many people that enjoyed his company and work. Chris enjoyed playing chess with his Uncle Murle and brother Murle Jr. He loved to play basketball, Chris was a baller.

Chris is survived by his loving family. Mother Carrie St. Pierre; Step-father Curtis Posey Sr.; Children Charlee, Christa, Aiden, Kiro, and Sephira; Brothers Kurt (Sam) Posey Sr., Clint Posey Sr., Collin Posey Sr., Brandon (Heather) Posey, Bronson Posey, Monte Fassett, William Richotte St. Pierre, Murle Richotte Jr. , Leonard Richotte, Bryson Robertson, and Cody Merrick; Sisters Amanda Nelson, Marissa Posey, and Toni Swigart; Aunts Marilyn Gravelle, Sherry St. Pierre, Angela (Murle) Richotte Sr., Adele Thompson, Emma Cavanaugh and Melissa Little; Uncles Murle Richotte Sr., Terry (Catalina) Herman Sr., Martin Little Sr., Pete (Marcella) Longie, Bud (FeeFee) Shaw, uncle and god father Pat Peltier; Nieces Taylin, Madison, Isabella, Areonna, Alliann, Miley, Brinne, Brooklyn, Layla, Olivia, Jasmine and Katlynn Posey; Nephews Kurt III, Greyson, Clint Jr., Collin Jr., Kyion, Jaymeson, Draco, and Kaden Posey, and Maziah St. Pierre; Grandmas Shirley Culbertson, Ardis Shaw, Ila McKay and Catherine Howard; Grandpa Vincent (Janice) Shaw Sr.; Special Friend Cassandra Reiger; Special Cousins Monica Fassett, Miranda St. Pierre, Heidi Richotte, Bobby Richotte and Angel Richotte;

He was preceded in death by his Grandmas Marceline St. Pierre, Estelle Hennager, Patricia Shaw, Linda Herman and Mercie Nelson, Great Grandmas Lillian S, Flora Culbertson and Hermenia McKay, Grandpas Andrew Shaw, Roger Shaw, Joseph Herman, Daniel Herman, Robert Herman Sr., James Herman, William Herman Jr., and John Nelson, Great Grandpas William Herman Sr. and Pierre Culbertson, Aunts April St. Pierre, Marcy McKay, Becky Longie and Martina Longie, Uncles Barney Shaw, Mark Shaw, William St. Pierre, Erick Longie, Gary Gravelle and Mark Fassett Sr., Nieces Katie Kay Posey and Matisha Lynn Fassett, Nephew Eli Michael Richotte, Cousins Daniel St. Pierre Sr., and Mark Allen Fassett Sr. and several other family members, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The Wake for Christopher will be held at the Fort Totten Recreation Center on Sunday, September 8, 2024, beginning at 5:00 p.m. The procession to Fort Totten will leave on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. from City Plaza, Devils Lake. The Funeral Service will be on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. also at the Fort Totten Recreation Center.
