Clarence "Care Bear" Andrew Brown

Clarence Andrew “Care Bear” Brown, "Mato Inina Mani" (Bear Walks Quiet)  29 of Fort Totten, North Dakota began his spiritual journey home to Heaven on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Fargo, ND from injuries sustained in a pedestrian/motor vehicle accident.

Clarence Andrew was born on November 17, 1988 in United Hospital, Grand Forks, ND, the son of the late Celestine A. Brown and Raymond Owens II. Clarence attended elementary and high school at Four Winds, graduating from Four Winds High School in May of 2007.

In the early years, Clarence worked at Little Caesars and Applebee’s. He later started working at the Spirit Lake Casino as a grave yard Housekeeper, then moved to swing shift Snack Bar Cook. Clarence was a very responsible adult, honest and hard-working, so after a year or two, Clarence moved to a day shift Buffet cook where he enjoyed cooking and joking around with the kitchen crew as he worked.

Clarence always brought a smile to everyone he talked and joked with. Clarence was also a kind and caring person, always willing to help out when needed.

Clarence was residing in Crow Hill until his passing on Thursday, October 5th at Sanford Trauma Unit in Fargo, at age 29.  Clarence’s wishes were to become an organ donor. So if anything should happen to him, he could still help someone when he passed away.

Clarence loved spending what time he could with his son Toni Joe Starr. He enjoyed listening to Insane Clown Posse and various other music.  Clarence was very talented at drawing, painting and playing his guitar.  He loved traveling to Dunseith to visit family on his father’s side and also his girlfriend, Layne Slater.  Clarence never missed an opportunity to laugh and joke around with family and friends.  He will be greatly and deeply missed.

Clarence is survived by and will be greatly missed by his son Toni Joe Starr, Devils Lake; brothers Derrick Brown and Phillip SpottedHorse III both of Fort Totten, Raymond H. Owen III and Kendron R. Owen Sr. both of Dunseith, ND; sisters LaCosta Leigh Warren Brown, Fort Totten and Michelle SpottedHorse, Bismarck; niece Emery Rose SpottedHorse; special dear friend Layne R. Slater, Belcourt; best friend Carmen Hale, St. Michael and Angela Ralston, Devils Lake. Other surviving family members include many aunts, special aunt Gwendolyn Brown, uncles, cousins and a niece.

Clarence was preceded in death by his mother Celestine Brown; father Philip Emery SpottedHorse III; sister Clarice Brown; many aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents.
