Our loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and dear friend Clarice Alexandra Brown, 25 of Fort Totten died on Tuesday, April 4, 2017. Clarice Alexandra Brown, AKA-Claire, daughter of Blaine Anderson and the late Celestine Brown, was born on July 18, 1991 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake. Clarice attended Four Winds Elementary and High School, graduating in 2009.  Clarice was also a Green Bay Packers fan, like her mother Celestine. Clarice enjoyed being with her family and friends. Clarice always had a hug for everybody and wanted to make sure everyone knew that she loved them.  Clarice would befriend anyone and loved to talk to people. She went out of her way to make sure everyone around her was always happy and smiling.  Clarice also enjoyed writing, reading and drawing and loved hanging out with her Auntie Twyla. Clarice was in a tragic car accident early Monday morning April 3, 2017 and passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND. Clarice is survived by her loving family and will be greatly missed by her dearest close friend Danika Yankton; brother Clarence Brown of Fort Totten; nephew Tony Joe Starr, Devils Lake; brother Derrick Brown, Fort Totten; sister Michelle SpottedHorse, Minneapolis, MN; niece Emery SpottedHorse also of Minneapolis; sister LaCosta Brown, Fort Totten; sister Hannah Anderson; aunts Lenore White Lightning, Larina “Cookie” Bugg, Stephanie Ramōn, Jacqueline Peltier, Twyla Feather, Gwendolyn Brown, Darlys Longie, Vernetta Brown, Debra (Billy) Cavanaugh, Melody Christianson, Loreen “Wiggs” Anderson, Rena (Bob) Skaro and Lila Anderson; uncles Stephan A. Brown Jr., Gawlen Brown Sr. and James E. Brown; great uncle Eugene Hedine; grandpa Francis Brown; nieces Anika Cavanaugh, Joelee Cavanaugh, Annisyn Cavanaugh and Hannah Mae Anderson; nephews Taryn Spiedahl and Reggie Cavanaugh Jr; father Blaine Anderson and grandmother Clara Brown. Clarice was preceded in death by her dear loving mother and dad Celestine Brown and Emery Spotted Horse III; sisters Heidi Jo Anderson and Aimee Anderson; grandfather Stephan A. Brown Sr.; great grandparents John and Delores Anderson, James E. Brown I and Agnes Littlewind; uncles Robert Brown, John “Hancock” Anderson and Chris Anderson; aunts Carole Jean Brown, Carlene Pearl Brown, Ester Ann Brown, Carol Rena Brown, Patricia Anderson, Sharon Anderson, Tracy Anderson and Sherry Anderson; grandmothers Mary Lou Diaz, Irene Yankton and Georgeline BlackHawk; cousins Leonnae Jayce Brown, Jacob Evan Brown, Thomas “Jasper” Short and Roberto “Beto” Ramōn. Special thanks to Trinity Hospital, the Doctors and Staff, the Spirit Lake Tribe, Fort Totten, Kris White, Lake Region Drum Group, Gilbertson Funeral Home, the many friends and relatives and everyone for prayers and support received during this time. If we have forgotten to mention anyone, please forgive us in our time of sorrow, it was not intentional.  A Wake for Clarice will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Fort Totten Wellness Center with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.  The procession to Fort Totten will leave on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. from City Plaza. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten with Father Charles Leute OP celebrating the Mass. Clarice will be laid to rest at St. Jerome’s Cemetery with her mother Celestine who passed away in February.  Active Pallbearers will be Titus Anderson, Dana Yankton, Ambrose “Gumby” Lawrence, Mikey Adams, Johnny Waanatan and Kendall Anderson. Honorary Bearers will be Spirit Lake Casino, Four Winds High School class of “2009”, 4-H Club and all of Clarice’s many dear friends.  Music will be provided by Kris White and Lake Region Singers Drum Group.
