Clayton Leo McCloud was born in Bottineau, North Dakota on August 26, 1950, the son of Collin and Mable (Houle) McCloud. He attended schools in the Bottineau area.
In 1972, Clayton moved to the Devils Lake area. He was employed at Sioux Manufacturing for about 30 years, and it was there he met the love of his life, Marilynn Tandeski, whom he spent the rest of his life with.
Clayton and Marilynn worked together at K-Mart for several years and for the past 5 years, Clayton has been the happy, friendly, smiling face at the Gas Depot. A job he truly loved. He loved the customers, the daily visitors, the people he worked for and with.
In Clayton’s free time, he was a daily morning card player at Pop’s and enjoyed playing in the afternoons with Marilynn and their neighbor Adam Hager. He loved all sports and was a strong supporter of NDSU Bison and the Minnesota Twins, recently enjoying the baseball playoffs. In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, hunting, fishing and golf as pastimes.
Clayton and Marilynn made sure to enjoy life together too. They planned trips every summer, their favorites were the Oregon Coast, Vegas, Laughlin and the National Parks.
Clayton loved people. He treasured his family; they brought him so much joy. He treasured friendships, old and new.
