Colleen Anne Monteith-DeMarce, 58 of Fargo formerly of the Spirit Lake Nation, ND passed away Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2017 at her home in the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. A Rosary and Scripture Service will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with Father Charles Leute OP officiating. No other services will be held. Colleen Anne was born on October 14, 1959 on the Spirit Lake Reservation, the daughter of Ruth (Herald) and Clifford Monteith Sr. She grew up at Spirit Lake and attended school there. She was united in marriage to George DeMarce Sr. and they were the proud parents of 3 boys. George died on October 28, 2017. For the past 8 years, Colleen has made her home in Fargo. Colleen was talented at beading, sewing and had many beautiful houseplants. She cared about her animals and loved her boys and grandchildren with all her heart. Colleen is survived by her sons George (Jacquie) DeMarce Jr., Thomas (Bethany Owlboy) DeMarce and Joseph DeMarce; grandchildren Alexis (Alex Acevedo) DeMarce, Kirstyn DeMarce, Demitri DeMarce, Thomas DeMarce Jr., George DeMarce III, Drew (Steve) DeMarce-Rothermel, Alexander DeMarce, Chantel Monteith, Clifford Monteith III and Jacob Peltier; great grandchildren Freya Rothermel and Athena Rose Acevedo; foster brothers Jesse Cavanaugh and Craig Brown Sr.; foster sister Becky Brown and nephews Clarence Leftbear Jr. and Derrick “Schmoo” IronHawk. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Clifford Monteith Jr.
