Daniel James Dubois III

Daniel James Dubois III, began his journey to the Spirit World on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. He passed away at Trinity Medical Center, Minot ND at the age of 59.

Daniel James “Tiger” DuBois III was born on August 23, 1965 to Daniel “Bibs” DuBois Jr. and Marlene Lovejoy in Cleveland, Ohio while the family was part of a relocation program.

He attended school at Fort Yates and Four Winds. He danced Fancy in the United Tribes Dancing Club. He was also in their Boxing Club. He enjoyed playing basketball in high school. Tiger worked several years in Fort Yates at the Housing Authority. He started a family in Spirit Lake. He is a father of 9 children and 10 grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Tiffany DuBois, Dana Yankton, Dakota DuBois, Pauline King, Brayden DuBois, Shay Longie, Persaeus Longie and Marlene DuBois; grandchildren Marquese DuBois, Kimora Nerison, Jasmine Nerison, Ayla Ironheart, Luka DuBois, Valari Yankton, Lexi Stinkeoway, Myles Anderson, Lyra Yankton and Roberto DuBois; his father Daniel “Bibs” DuBois Jr.; brothers Sherman DuBois, Nathaniel DuBois, and Calvin DuBois; sisters Tane Russo and Georgelene DuBois; grandmother CoraRose Iceman; He leaves behind many relatives, nieces and nephews as well as his wonderful friends Jim Pearson and family, Hyllis Dauphinais, Paul Robertson, Curtis Posey Sr., Ivan Lovejoy Sr., Ralph Peoples, Darren Iceman Sr. and many more.

Daniel III is preceded in death by his loving mother Marlene Lovejoy,, his beloved son Wambli DuBois, sisters Denise DuBois, Deanna DuBois, and Danielle DuBois, brother Free DuBois, nephew Larse Azure Jr., grandparents Daniel DuBois, Mary “Sherman” DuBois, James Lovejoy and Alice West.

There will be a visitation and gathering of family and friends at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Tuesday, December 10,, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Reverend Steven Meyer, Pastor of Seven Dolors Catholic Church will officiate.

The Graveside Service for Daniel will be on Wednesday, December 11th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jerome’s Cemetery, rural Fort Totten.
