Dave L. Fisher

David Lee Fisher, 80 of Devils Lake formerly of Napa, California passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo ND.

David was born on December 16, 1941 in California, receiving his education in the Napa/Vacaville area. David enlisted n the United States Navy on September 8, 1959. He proudly and honorably served his country stateside and abroad, aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard (CVA-31) aircraft carrier.  He was honorably discharged from active duty on December 20, 1962 with the rank of Aviation Machinist’s Mate, Petty Officer 3^rd class. He continued with the reserves until September 7, 1965. 

After his discharge, David continued to make his home in California where for worked for the Department of Defense for many years and worked at several other jobs before retiring and moving to Devils Lake ND in 2006. This move was made to be closer to family, make new friends and enjoy a quieter, more serene life style. 

David is survived by  cousins Bruce Fisher, Pam Fisher, Dixie Fisher, Emery Fisher and several other relatives and a few very dear friends in the Lake Region.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two daughters.

Funeral Services with Military Honors will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake ND on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Jim Paulson officiating. Burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery.
