David R. Pederson

David Ray Pederson, 70, died Oct 26, 2024 at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington where he resided since early 2023. 

 Dave was born January 18, 1954 to Ruth H. Pederson in Devils Lake. He was raised on the Pederson farm northeast of Churchs Ferry. He graduated from Churchs Ferry High School and attended Devils Lake Junior College. He farmed with his uncle for many years, drove school bus and worked for neighboring farmers. He became unable to continue working due to his declining health condition. 

 David had been an active member of Chain Lake Lutheran Church where he played organ for years. Upon the closure of Chain Lake Lutheran he became a member of St Olaf Lutheran Church in Devils Lake. He was a member of the Churchs Ferry volunteer fire department and the Masonic Lodge of Churchs Ferry. 

He was a very social and amiable person. He enjoyed visiting with anybody, especially about farming and old farm equipment. Dave enjoyed playing card games, dice games, watching Twins baseball and attending dart tournaments with his good friend and cousin, Curtis Thorp. 

 Dave was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Marie Pederson; his mother, Ruth Pederson; uncles, Maurice, Erling, Melvin, and Loyd; aunts, Anna Emerson, Ethel Thorp, Agnus Hoistad, and Edith Codding. 

 He is survived by his aunt Rita Larson and several cousins. 

 A gathering of friends and relatives will celebrate David’s life at Gilbertson Funeral Home in Devils Lake at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
