David M. Tikayne, 28 of Fargo and the Spirit Lake Nation went missing on Monday, June 5, 2017 and was found on June 15, 2017. The Wake for David will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Tokio Recreation Center with a Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. The procession to Tokio will leave on Friday at 4:00 p.m. from City Plaza, Devils Lake. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 24th at 2:00 p.m. at the Tokio Recreation Center with Reverend Larry Thiele officiating. David will be laid to rest in the Bdecan Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Tokio. David Michael Tikayne was born on November 20, 1988 at Bemidji, Minnesota, the son of Delphine Tikayne and Emerson BigTrack Jr. At a very young age he came to the Spirit Lake Nation and lived in area foster homes. He attended Prairie View School in Devils Lake and Warwick Public School. Most recently he was living and working in Fargo. David liked playing Black Jack, watching movies, playing and watching basketball and just “hanging out” with friends. He loved his daughter Alaina Rose very much and treasured anytime he was able to spend with her. He was quite artistic and enjoyed drawing. Our love and prayers for David will be forever. David is survived by his precious family. His daughter Alaina Rose; parents Delphine BigTrack-Tikayne and Emerson BigTrack Jr.; brothers Lawrence Cronquist Jr., George Skye Tikayne and Delvin Tikayne, formerly of Bemidji, MN; sisters Angel Tibbetts formerly of Bemidji and Katelynn BigTrack and Ashley BigTrack; aunts Yvonne Georgeson and Beverly Tikayne; uncles Randolph Tikayne, Maynard Tikayne, Francis Tikayne Jr., Duane Tikayne, Lydell BigTrack and Thomas BigTrack; special friend Samantha Rebold. David was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Francis Tikayne Sr., Rose Mary (Greywind) Tikayne McKay; paternal grandparents Velma and Emerson BigTrack Sr.; aunts Bernadine Tikayne, Corrine Tikayne, Annie BigTrack, Bernice BigTrack, Lillian DdMarce, Delima Jackson and Shirley Johnson. Active Pallbearers for David will be his brothers Lawrence, George and Delvin, cousins Jarvis RedFox, Austin R. LaVallie, Antoine LaVallie, Luke Georgeson, Robert RedFox and Greg Mindt, friends Sid Monette, Mike Charboneau, Brian Abraham, Richard Abraham, Richardo Butcher and Darrel Butcher.
