Delbert Lee Harrison

  Cherished memories of a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and dear friend, Delbert Lee Harrison Sr., 48 of St. Michael ND. 

Delbert Lee Harrison Sr. Hehaka Gan’Ski Ya’  (Crazy Elk), was born on May 5, 1975, to the late Ambrose A. Thompson Sr. and Florine M. Harrison in Devils Lake, ND.  He passed away on July 4th, 2023 in Grand Forks, ND. 

Wake and Prayer Service on Monday, July 10, 2023 at St. Michael’s Recreation Center starting at 5:00 p.m. The procession will leave City Plaza, Devils Lake parking lot at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. also at St. Michael’s Recreation Center with Gerard Thompson Sr. officiating. All Drummers and Singers are welcome to share their songs. Debert will be laid to rest at the Native American Church Cemetery, rural St. Michael. 

Delbert grew up on the Spirit Lake Nation, he attended school at Four Winds High School in Fort Totten, ND and went on to Job Corp in Minot, ND. He had various jobs here on Spirit Lake and also in Fargo, ND and Grand Forks, ND. He made his final residence in Grand Forks to be closer to his children.

Delbert enjoyed listening to his music, rock , R&B, and pow-wows. Delbert always managed to wear a smile when times got hard. He always made time to visit his loving mother and family where he felt most at home.

Delbert Lee Harrison Sr. will be forever loved and missed.

Delbert’s loving family: his children who he loved and adored: sons Delbert Harrison Jr. and Alex Harrison; daughters Brianna Harrison and Ella Harrison; mother Florine Harrison; grandmother Catherine Howard; sisters Althelia Harrison, Robin Harrison, Blossom Harrison, Magdelin Harrison, Madeline Harrison, Germaine Thompson, Anna Chaske, Selena Thompson, Marcella Thompson, and Delphine Thompson; adopted sisters Arlene Belgarde and Elrae McDonald; brothers Myron Harrison Sr., Gerard Thompson Sr., and Ambrose Thompson Jr. and many nieces and nephews.

Delbert joins in death his father Ambrose A. Thompson Sr., sisters Candice Harrison and Roxanne Harrison, brothers Bradley Thompson and Lyle Harrison, brothers-in-law Randy Miller and Dion Horse, uncles Zachary Thompson and Raymond Thompson, aunt Lena Denne, grandmother Irene McKay and many loving nieces, nephews and relatives.
