Dell A. Dalgliesh

Dell A. Dalgliesh, 63 of Sarles, ND passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake on Tuesday, August 22, 2017.  ‘ Celebration of Dell’s life will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sarles Lutheran Church, Sarles, ND. Burial will be in the Sarles Lutheran Cemetery.  Dell A. Dalgliesh was born on August 15, 1954 in Devils Lake, North Dakota to Alan and Joyce (Halvorson) Dalgliesh. Dell grew up in Sarles, ND where he attended elementary school, and later High School in Calvin, ND graduating from Border Central High School with the class of 1972.  After High School, he went on to Lake Region State College, but decided to give the Marines a try, but he received an honorable medical discharge.  He began a career as an over-the-road truck driver, worked 10 years on the Mississippi River and came back to Sarles and started his own repair and machine shop, then excavating company, “Dalgliesh Enterprises”. Dell could fix anything and everything that needed fixing. Dell is survived by his step mother Tove; brothers Quinn (Marilyn) Dalgliesh, Coby Dalgliesh and Espen Dalgliesh; sister Vali Janz and many nieces, nephews and friends including his beloved cat “Big Gray Puddy”. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Erik and his grandparents.
