Dennis M. Anderson

Dennis M. Anderson, 68 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 at his home.  Funeral Services for Dennis will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, ND. Burial will be at a later date at St. Hans Cemetery, rural Edmore, ND.  Dennis Martin, son of Martin and Marion (Pederson) Anderson was born on October 23, 1948 at Devils Lake, ND. He was reared and educated in Devils Lake, graduating from Central High School with the class of 1967.  He was a baptized and confirmed member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church.  Dennis would call Devils Lake home for his entire life. Dennis started as a stock boy at the Red Owl Store and was later the Produce Manager for Marv and Leo’s Red Owl. He later was the bartender at the VFW Club for many years and most recently was a bartender at Ye Olde Tavern.   Dennis enjoyed his time as a bartender, to be around people, good conversation and always time with old friends and making new ones. He was an excellent Chess player and had quite an extensive collection of chess sets. He also collected bar memorabilia, baseball cards and just a few more things that caught his eye and interest.  He had a soft spot for animals, especially cats who he would take in and give them a home.  Dennis will be missed by all who called him friend, brother and uncle. He is survived by his brother Donald and his wife Sheryl Anderson, Devils Lake; sister Dawn Marie Anderson also Devils Lake; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Darrell M. and Dean M. Anderson and sister Debra E. Girard. Dennis is in the care of the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake
