Donald Mark Anderson
July 25, 1950- June 11, 2022
Don Anderson was born in Devils Lake at Mercy Hospital to Marion (Pedersen) and Martin Anderson. He attended the Devils Lake school system. Don married Sheryl Corrigan on March 3, 1972. They lived in Valley City and Jamestown for a few years before moving back to Devils Lake. Don held a variety of positions in retail sales, including Lamotte’s Paint and Glass Supply. He worked at Fourth Corporation as a resident ISLA and Lake Region Corporation as a job coach. He worked 2 days a week at the VFW Club at one time. He took over as the caretaker at the Amtrak station in Devils Lake, a job that brought him pride because he had a great interest in trains and in the stories of the people visiting the Lake Region who rode the train. He enjoyed playing cards with all his friends at the VFW and Pop’s, and he loved to buy and re-sell things.
Don’s greatest pride and joy were his daughters, Christy and Jenny, and his grandchildren. He was always interested in their education and school activities and playing cards and games with his grandkids. He died peacefully with his family by his side.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Martin, his siblings Dennis, Darryl and Dean Anderson, Debbie Girard, and Dawn Marie Dauphinais, father-in-law and mother-in-law Mike and Ernestine Corrigan, sister-in-law Connie Maki and brother-in-law Tim Johnson.
He is survived by his wife Sheryl, his children Christy (Ted) Anderson Brekken of Corvallis OR, and Jenny (Jeremy) Steinhaus of Devils Lake, and his grandchildren Anders and Nora Brekken, and Casia and Nate Steinhaus, many nieces, nephews, and their families.
Mass of Christian Burial for Donald will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake ND with the Very Reverend C.F. Wilhelm celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Services are delayed due to some family members overseas.
