Donna Lee (Longie) Whitebuffalo 77 of Fort Totten left us for the spirit world in the early morning hours on Saturday April 19, 2025 at Altru Hospital with loving family by her side.

Wake for Donna will be on Sunday April 27 at the Glen WalkingEagle Center starting at 5:00 with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 pm, the procession will leave from City Plaza at 4:00 pm. Funeral services officiated by Pastor Larry Theile will start at 10:00 am on Monday April 28, 2025 and she will be laid to rest in eternal peace in the Raven Hill Episcopal cemetery next to her son and granddaughter. Spirit Lake singers will be providing the songs.

Donna Lee was born on April 9, 1948 to Loretta Jerome and Louis Longie. She grew up in the Crow Hill district the oldest girl of ten siblings. She did her education through Maddock Boarding School and later in life attended United Tribes Technical College. Donna trained as a nurse specializing in geriatrics and our mom was so proud that she put her nursing pin on mom when she passed away.

Donna’s joys in life were playing bingo, watching crime documentaries, visiting with family and friends and her fur baby BOLT who was her constant companion. She always had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren Loretta “Weezie”, Jennifer, Kelsey, Felisha, and Autumn followed by her great grandchildren Dante, Dondrae, Keira, Kiara and Lina also her great great grandson Asontae She was the mother of 3 sons, 1 daughter and grandmother to 20 grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons Tracy and Tyler (Dawn) Whitebuffalo, her daughter Sonya Bull, her adopted son Manny Medicine Stone, 20 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; sisters Francine (Russ) McDonald, Lili DeMarce, Ava Froelich, Winona Fox, Sally Alberts, Beverly Labelle, Brenda Robertson and Barbara Robertson; brothers Dave Longie, Tim DeMarce, Pete Longie, Cory Longie and Christopher Nelson plus many nieces, nephews and cousins on both her Jerome and Longie sides of the family.

We will forever love and miss our mother, auntie, and grandmother. Never will she be forgotten.

She is preceded in death by her parents Loretta and Louis, her stepdad Alex “Snorky” DeMarce, her son Jefferey, granddaughter Loretta ‘Weezy’, sisters Darlene and Denise; brothers Conrad, Terry and Jerome; special cousins Virginia Lancelotta, Erich Longie, Becky Hinojos and April St Pierre plus many more relatives of the Jerome and Longie families.

Pallbearers for Donna will be: Will DeMarce, Jerome DeMarce Jr, Tim DeMarce Jr, Conrad DeMarce, Cody Merrick, Manny Medicine Stone, Dondre Whitebuffalo, Marshall Longie, Big Marsh Longie and Taylor Greywater.

Honorary pallbearers are: Rose LeBeau, Devonne Robertson, Lori & Frank Gourd, Leona Laroque, Joleen & Waylon St Claire, Elvis “Buddy” Thumb, Kim Knutson, Lisa Driver, Dovetta Cavanaugh and Cheryl Logan.

Special thank you to Spirit Lake ambulance, Altru ICU and all those who have sent condolences and prayers to her family.
