Doris M. Mueller

Doris Mary Dykhoff, born on August 7, 1934, in Devils Lake the 9th child of Frank and Pauline (Van Steenvoort) Dykhoff. She grew up on a farm near Bartlett, North Dakota. She attended Bartlett Elementary School and graduated from Lakota High School. She was employed by Dr. D.F. Conger, DDS at Lakota for 4 years as his dental assistant.

Doris married Donald Mueller on April 7, 1956 at St. Mary’s Church in Lakota. Four children were born of this union, Kevin, Paul, Michelle, and Eric. The family lived in Devils Lake for many years where she was Secretary at Sweetwater Elementary School. In 1973, they moved to their farm near Calio, ND until they returned to Devils Lake in 1986.

Doris was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Rita’s Circle.

Doris is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Jan Mueller of Munich, ND; daughter Michelle Hunt of Spokane Valley, Washington; grandchildren Weston (Molly) Mueller, Ali (Jared) Wilhelmi, Rhiannon (Justin) Cochrane, Chase (Nerissa) Rinas, Logan Berg, and Stryder Rinas; great grandchildren Addison and Trent Mueller, Rhett, Brody, and Tate Wilhelmi, Maizey Rae and Linley Mae Rinas; many beloved nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don on June 6, 2024, sons Paul and Eric, brothers Carl, Lawrence, Louis, and Lyle Dykhoff, sisters Isabel Rafferty, Esther Falk, Therese Woolsy, Julia Kunkel and Carol Coyer.

Our beloved Doris has passed from death to life.

Urn Bearers Weston Mueller, Jared Wilhelmi, Logan Rinas, Chase Rinas, and Stryder Rinas. Bringing forth the Eucharistic Gifts Rhiannon Rinas Cochrane, Molly Mueller, Ali Wilhelmi, Addison and Trent Mueller, Rhett and Brody Wilhelmi. Reading Scripture will be Ray Larson.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December13, 2024 with the Rosary recited at 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery with a time of fellowship and remembrance to follow at the Parish Center
