Dwight Jay Jabs was born on November 29 1958 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake, the son of Marvin and Carol (Scott) Jabs.

Dwight demonstrated his technical and mechanical abilities, and his knowledge of farming, through local employers including Devils Lake Equipment/Leading Edge Equipment as a combine mechanic for 20 years. Before retiring, he operated heavy equipment for the City of Devils Lake.
Dwight was a great father, grandfather, and husband. Outdoor activities including hunting and fishing were a passion for a large portion of his life. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and family.

He instilled in his sons the value of hard work, and a strong sense of morality.
Dwight is survived by his wife Patty Jabs; brother Reese (Theresa) Jabs of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; children Scott Jabs of Devils Lake and Matthew Jabs of Fish Hawk, Florida; granddaughter Kassidy Jabs of Fish Hawk, Florida; niece Holly Jabs (Reese); several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Carol (Scott) Jabs, his brother, David Jabs, infant brother Danny Jabs, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Wallace and Carol Schwols.
