Edward Moses “Beetle” Smith, 55 of California formerly of Fort Totten, ND passed away on October 5, 2019 in Oakland, CA.
Edward Moses was born in Devils Lake, ND on to Annette Marie (King) Smith and raised by Annette and his step father Conrad William Smith. He made his home in Fort Totten, Denver, Colorado and Oakland, California. He was enrolled in classes for the gifted students throughout his school years and graduated from high school in Denver.
He was a very talented artist, enjoyed arts and craft, talented cook, was into astronomy and always seeking new ideas and activities. He was known for his humor and will be remembered for his antics with the Fort Totten Community.
Most of all, Beetle was a very devoted son and was always doing his best to care for his mother Annette and step dad Conrad.
Beetle leaves behind his loving family. His sister Charris (Myron) Smith, Grand Forks, ND; brother Mylo (Carol) IronBear, Sylmar, CA; step brother Duane Smith, Petaluma, CA; step sisters Lois Smith Bull, Grand Forks and Connie Smith, Arizona; nieces Angela Mavers, Denver CO, Mary Lynn McCarthy, Breckenridge, CO; nephews Richard Smith, Las Vegas, NV, Aaron Nash, Denver, Ethan Nash, Sea Breeze, FL, Damon Smith and Shay McCarthy both of Denver, Mylo Wayne Smith Jr., Sioux Falls, SD; auntie Nita Frederick, Devils Lake; uncle Sidney King and many cousins and other dear relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents Annette and Conrad; grandparents Jerome and May (Lohnes) King; sister Leslie Lynette Smith.
The Wake for Beetle will be held at the Dakota Baptist Church, Fort Totten, ND on Friday, December 13, 2019 beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Dakota Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Young and Robert Greywater officiating.
