Edward Dosch

Edward Dosch, 89 of Devils Lake, ND passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Eventide Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake, in the loving care of his family.

Cremation has taken place.  A gathering for family and friends will be held at the Eventide Heartland Care Center Chapel, Devils Lake, on Friday, November 2, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m. led by Father Steven Wirth. Mass of Christian Burial for Edward will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Eventide Heartland Care Center Chapel, Devils Lake, with Father Charles Leute OP celebrating the Mass.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Devils Lake.

Edward was born December 4, 1928, to Joseph and Barbara (Pfeifer) Dosch south of Orrin, ND, on the family farm. He was educated in Orrin and spent his early years working on the family farm.  He moved to Rugby and worked for Anderson Funeral Home.  He married Clementine Rose (Voeller) on June 12, 1950, in Balta, ND.  The couple then moved to Devils Lake, ND, where they established their home and raised their family.  They were the proud parents of eight children: Wayne, Ed, Rita, Mary, Mark, Marvin, Joan and Janice.  Edward was a mechanic by trade and worked at several shops around Devils Lake including Powell Motors, Steffan’s Garage, Lakes Supply and Hunt Incorporated.  He also managed the warehouse and elevator for Northern Seed & Feed.  Edward was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and was active in the Knights of Columbus and Fraternal Order of Eagles.  Ed and Clementine enjoyed almost 40 years together before Clementine passed away on May 4, 1990.

While attending various functions at the Eagles, Edward became reacquainted with an old family friend, Eldoris Rodlin. They were united in marriage on July 10, 1992, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. 

After retirement, Edward and Eldoris enjoyed playing bingo, dancing at the Eagles and sitting on the front porch visiting with family and friends. Edward loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of 26 years, Eldoris; children: Wayne (Paula), Bismarck, ND; Ed (Elaine), Devils Lake, ND; Rita, Albany, OR; Mary (Richard) Klindtworth, Scio, OR; Mark (Susan), Gainsboro, TN;  Marvin (Teresa), Rio Rancho, NM; Joan (Cy) Ellerd, Billings, MT; Janice (Jefri) Jones, Horace, ND;  14 grandchildren: Brianna (Jim) Krause, Erinn and Mikaela Dosch; Tiffani (Lee) Crist and Eddie Dosch; Amanda Klindtworth, Jason (Sara) Klindtworth and Jacob (Katie) Klindtworth; Kristina (Tyler) Walters; Stephen (Colleen) Dosch, Andrew (Becca) Dosch and Meredithe (Hayden) Cohenaur;  Johanna and Teddy Jones;  21 great-grandchildren: Lee Jaxon(LJ) and Destani Crist; Kendra Dosch; Gabriel, Gavin and Linkin Furnish; Allison and Lauryn Klindtworth ; Aniyah, Alexa, Colson, Savanna and Selah Klindtworth; Adelyn Walters; Molly Dosch; Cyd, Erick, Elijah and Melody Dosch; Darius and Lucien Cohenauer; step children: Allan Rodlin, Gary Rodlin, Janice (Duane) Henschel, Judy (Mark) Vigil all of Devils Lake, ND; 6 step-grandchildren: Sarah Rodlin; Crystal Hoffmeister and Joshua Henschel; Jennifer (Jimmy) Marquiss, Heather (Tony) York, Emily Johnson (Jono Glushakow); 11 step-great-grandchildren: Ashton Rodlin; India, Vegas and Ethan Longden; Dakota and Wylde Marquiss; Orion and Erika York; Riley, Shiann and West Glushakow;  sister, Lucille Green, MN and many nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Barbara Dosch; his first wife, Clementine; brother, Mike (Betty) Dosch; sisters: Theresa (Nicholas) Kessler; Agatha (Carl) Buckmeier; Anna (Nicholas) Volk; Agnes (Pius) Hauck; Martha (Mel) Miersch.  Brother-in-law:  Richard Green; step-granddaughter: Tasha Rodlin.
