Edward Dean Greywind, 66 of Moorhead, MN passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo ND.
Edward Dean Greywind, son of Timothy Greywind and Rose Mary Guy was born on June 24, 1956 at Devils Lake. Ed grew up in the Tokio ND area and attended Warwick Public School. Edward moved to Fargo ND and here he met his beloved Teresa Gahner and they were united in marriage on April 9, 1975 at Jamestown ND. They lived, loved and raised their family through the years. Teresa passed away on July 28, 2011.
After their marriage to established their home in Fargo and Edward worked a variety of jobs including a few years at Federal Beef in West Fargo and then many years at MidAmerica Steel. He later worked as a concrete finisher for Quality Concrete also in Fargo.
In 2004, the family moved to Tokio and in 2010 the couple moved to Sheyenne ND. Ed worked for Sioux Manufacturing until 2013 when he was forced to retire due to failing health. He was most recently making his home in Moorhead, Minnesota.
In his younger years, Ed enjoyed sports, especially basketball which he enjoyed playing and watching. He was a grass dancer, participated in the pow-wow circuit, and was a very talented at sewing clothing. He enjoyed nothing more than a peaceful horseback ride in the country.
Ed’s grandchildren meant the world to him. He and Teresa were very involved in their lives and even helped to raise some of the grandchildren. They were his pride and joy and spending time with them and his family brought him so much joy.
We say goodbye to our precious Dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He had a smile that captured your heart and an unconditional love for everyone.
Eddy’s family include his dear children John Greywind, Ohio, Joe (Norberta) Greywind, Oberon and Shane Greywind, Devils Lake; grandchildren John Jr., Kelsey, Jastin, Rachel: Joe Jr., Kayla, Casey, Jace: Rosalie, Alexis, Rylee, Rowan and Shane Jr.: great grandchildren Haisley Jo, Delaney, Joe III, C.J. and Camden; brothers John Guy and Duane (Elaine) Guy; sister Janet Travis; special friend Shannon Schaffer; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was welcomed home to Heaven by his Lord, dad Tim, wife Teresa, granddaughter Savanna and two grandchildren in infancy and many other beloved relatives.
Casket Bearers for Ed will be Andy DeMarce Jr., John Greywind Jr., Joe Greywind Jr., Casey Greywind, Josh Gahner, Doug Gahner and Conrad Gahner. Honorary Bearers are all of Ed’s dear friends and relatives. Music will be provided by Derrick Jackson and River Singers and all other Drum Groups are welcome to share their songs in memory of Ed.
Visitation will be held at the Crow Hill Recreation Center, rural Fort Totten on Thursday, November 17, 2022 beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service at 12:00 noon followed by burial in the Riverside Cemetery, Sheyenne ND. Reverend Larry Thiele will officiate. The procession to Crow Hill will leave on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. from the City Plaza in Devils Lake.
