Edward Silas Hill was born on March 22, 1967, the son of the late Ephraim Hill Sr. and Mary (Lawrence) Hill. Rocky was raised and educated in the Fort Totten/St. Michael area, graduating from high school in 1987.
Throughout the years, Rocky worked many jobs where he enjoyed meeting new people and making lots of friends. As a truck driver, Rocky visited almost all 50 states, sending postcards to Mom and Dad from every stop. Sometimes, he would make a surprise visit at home, making it home before some of his postcards.
While at home, he spent all his time with his parents, nieces and nephews or whoever was home at the time. Family was everything to Rocky. The past few years, Rocky had made his home in Fort Totten with his niece, Nikki and her family and being neighbors with another niece, Kersten Redfox and her 4 boys. Being that close to family, he spent the mornings at Kerstens’ drinking his morning cup of coffee and a cigarette after breakfast and spending time with the Morin-Redfox grandsons Valdon, Riley, Dominic and Fulton and seeing Shanoa and Montana Redfox on most visits. Then Rocky would go home and spend the evening, have supper and just hanging out with niece Nikki and grandson “Possum”. Rocky also enjoyed spending time with nephew, Richard Cavanaugh and family. He had a large family, many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Rocky was a simple man, living life to the fullest…He did just that!! He will be forever loved and missed by all whose hearts he touched.
Rocky is survived by his Hill family, daughters Nakia and Emma Hill; sisters Janice (Francis) Roulette, Theresa Blacklance, Mildred Hill, Vicki Hill, Violet Hill and the Blueshield Sisters; brothers Ken Hill, Blueshield Brothers, Clayton Blueshield and Harlan Blueshield; nieces, Jennie Roulette, Toni Roulette, Deanna Roulette, Brittany Roulette, Mary IronHawk, Terra IronHawk, Tammy IronHawk, Robyn Joshua, Holly Hill, Jamie Hill, Caroline Hill, Hannah Vallas, Paige Vallas, Blueshield-Redfox family, Clairesse Whitehorse and Dawn IronHawk; nephews Francis Roulette Jr., Addlore Johnson, Aaron IronHawk, Merrill IronHawk Jr., Evan Hill, Dennis Hill, Dusty Joshua, Alias Hill, Vincent Hill, Benjamin Hill, Francis Hill, the Bleushield-Redfox family; many grandchildren also whom he loved but too numerous to name.
Rocky was preceded in death by Ephraim and Mary Hill, brothers and sisters from both sides of the Hill/Blueshield family.
Pallbearers for Rocky will be Aaron IronHawk, Merrill IronHawk, Vincent Hill, Benjamin Hill, Dennis Hill, Elvis Thumb, Troyal Thumb, Gary Thumb and Anthony Littleghost.
