Elizabeth J. Blackboy-Thumb of rural Tokio, ND passed away at CHI, St. Alexius, Devils Lake Hospital of natural causes. She was 11 years old.
Elizabeth Jo, daughter of Martin Thumb and Jodie Blackboy was born on May 4, 2007 at Fargo, ND. She spent time between her Fargo home and her home with her “Papa Gary” at rural Warwick. She attended the Warwick Public School and was a typical, sweet 5th grader at the time of her death. She was on the Warwick Track and Field team and was participating in Shot Put and Discus and showed great potential in both events.
Elizabeth loved her music, video games, drone and was quite a pro on her Hover Board. Elizabeth was a “tom boy” with a very daring and inquisitive personality. She asked a million questions about everything and was never afraid to give anything a try-climbing trees, go-carts, swimming and shopping with her cousin which was always an adventure. Elizabeth was all about family. She loved with her whole heart, her Papa Gary, her beloved aunts, uncles and cousins, her special Fargo families and her dear close friends and cousin.
We cannot imagine our lives without Elizabeth, our precious daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. But remember she will live on in us. Love does not die, so when all that is left of our beloved Elizabeth is love, we will give her love away as best we can.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving family. Her grandpa, Gary Thumb, Warwick; dad Martin (Neva) Thumb, Fargo; mom Jodie Blackboy, South Dakota; brothers and sisters Chelsea Thumb, Josh Felix, Alyssa Thumb, Ethan Thumb, Janessa Thumb, Trevor Thumb, Marty Thumb Jr., Saige Thumb, Maria Blackboy and Tristin Thumb; aunts and uncles Gary (Colleen) Thumb Jr., Stacy (Jackie) Thumb, Tracy Thumb, Sara (Mike) Eversvik, John Blackboy, Joy Blackboy, Connie PoorBear, Joe Blackboy Jr.; special grandparents Mary and David Eversvik; many great aunts, great uncles and her many dear cousins; special friends Shelby Tollefson, Hazen Christofferson and Chad Keo Jr. and many other relatives that may not be named, but were so loved by Elizabeth and the family.
Those who welcomed Elizabeth to her eternal home were her grandma Doris “Dolly” Thumb; grandparents Joseph Blackboy Sr., Elizabeth PoorBear and Mary Robertson; cousin Rancee Jo Chaske-Thumb and her dear friend, her dog Sammy Jo.
