Francis Patrick Grant

Francis Patrick Grant was born in Devils Lake, ND on September 30, 1926, the son of Patrick and Judith (Lafontaine) Grant. He attended Marty Boarding School in South Dakota where he excelled in art.  He was a well-known artist in the various places he lived. He proudly served in the United States Navy.   Francis was a very generous person. He would donate money to feed children in need of food. He was a Sundancer and loved Sundances. He also liked to travel. He was devoted to saying the Rosary, and reading the Bible.     Francis is survived by his brothers Peter Grant and Sylvester Grant; sister Mary Melick; special great nephew Gary and his wife Roberta Baker and other dear nieces, nephews and their families. He also is survived by the staff of the Good Samaritan Center and Dr. Jackie Downs who lovingly cared for him these last years of his life.    He was preceded in death by his parents Pat and Judith; brother Clarence Grant; sister Delphine Schmidt (Grant); nieces Rose M. Baker, Geraldine Grant, Lulu Voyles and other nieces and nephews.    Funeral Services for Francis will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fiddler’s Hall, rural Belcourt, ND
