Frank P. Bachmeier

Frank Bachmeier, 67 of Devils Lake ND passed away early Thursday morning, March 10, 2022 at CHI, St. Alexius Health, Devils Lake Hospital surrounded by his loving family. 

Frank Peter Bachmeier, son of Peter and Klara (Ohnersarg) Bachmeier was born on September 8, 1954 in Landstuhl, West Germany and is the oldest of 6 siblings.  He attended school in Crary, ND and worked side by side with his Dad and followed in his footsteps learning how to sheetrock.  They worked together several years on construction jobs in North Dakota and Minnesota. 

Frank met and later married Susan “Sue” Reichenberger in September of 1976 and they were the proud parents of three children, Jason, Terri Lynn and Daniel.

In 1981, Frank met Louise Denault Pledger and they married in 1996.  They established their home in the Devils Lake area where they lived, worked and raised a family.  Louise died on March 25, 2010.

Frank enjoyed cooking and worked in a few area restaurants as a chef.  Most recently, Frank was self-employed in the cleaning business until increasing health problems forced him to retire. 

Frank and Louise enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada and also sight-seeing trips with the family.  He also enjoyed rummage sales and auctions.  He especially treasured time spent with his kids and grandkids at the lake lot, camping and fishing and just having  good quality family time, making memories to last a lifetime. 

Frank’s loving family include his children Jason (Kendra) Bachmeier, Terri Bachmeier, Daniel Bachmeier all of Minot, ND, Michelle (Daniel) Morin and Jessica Pledger all of Devils Lake : grandchildren Zachary (fiancé Ashley) Bachmeier of Sydney, MT, Lundon, Nevaeh, Yesenia, Traydon and McKenzie Bachmeier, McKayla Bachmeier all of Minot, Nathaniel Morin, Kyshawn Morin, Kaysha Morin, Lonnie Charboneau Jr., James Charboneau, Jonathan Bear and Janessa Charboneau all of Devils Lake; brothers James Bachmeier, Minneapolis, MN, Donald Bachmeier, Devils Lake and Scott (Kay) Bachmeier, also of Devils Lake; several nieces, nephews and their families, aunts, uncles and cousins, special friend Terri Lafontaine.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents Milton and Annie Bachmeier, wife Louise, brothers Steven “Steve” Bachmeier and Gary Bachmeier, sister-in-law Sue (Togstad) Bachmeier and several aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Funeral services for Frank will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, ND with burial in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation on Tuesday one hour prior to the funeral service.
